Contribute Archival & Heritage Materials

Help build collective memory and fill the missing gaps
of Polish Life in regions of Northern England 1950 - 1999

Help preserve the rich, unique and hidden history of deportation, exile and resettlement in Northern England.

We collect photographs, memorabilia, documents and artifacts that reflect the deported generation and their descendants.

Every story is important. Your contributions will ensure that this history is saved and that future generations can learn and celebrate this shared heritage.

We carefully catalogue and protect all items. Selected pieces may be featured in exhibitions, events and online archives.

Collecting New Materials: Deportation from Poland

Acquiring new items such as photographs, maps, memoirs, documents including military, medals, uniforms, event programmes, costumes, textiles, handicrafts, decorative items, art work, vinyl records, music cassettes, literature and digital histories that fill gaps in existing collections and reflect memories of deportation from Poland’s pre-WW Eastern Borderlands, imprisonment in gulags, military contribution to defence of Europe and refugee life in British colonies.

Collecting New Materials: Polish Life in Northern England

The charity collects memories of post-WW2 resettlement and contribution in regions of Northern England (1950 – 1999) including memorabilia from descendants: Polish Schools, social centres, chapels and churches, delicatessens, contribution to industry, scouts, performing arts, choir, pilgrimages, processions and special events that fill gaps in the history of the Polish community from the era 1950 – 1999.
